“Code and media are permissionless leverage. They’re the leverage behind the newly rich. You can create software and media that works for you while you sleep.” –The Almanack of Naval Ravikant
Hey – It’s Luis.
Welcome to Day 4 of my 30-Day Writing Challenge!
A Personal Note
Henri returned to the tennis court yesterday after three days of rest, icing, and prayers for his left arm. With the ShockSorb dampener on his Yonex VCORE 100, he noticed an immediate difference. By the end of his lesson, he was hitting pain-free and said his racquet had more pop!
Now, on to today’s writing...
My Journey into Copywriting
Since adolescence, I’ve dreamed of starting my own business. The first book that sparked my entrepreneurial spirit was Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill.
Later, Ogilvy on Advertising taught me “How to Produce Advertising that Sells,” which led to my first direct marketing campaign and real sales for our startup. That moment changed everything.
I devoured classics like Scientific Advertising, How to Write a Good Advertisement, and Tested Advertising Methods. Learning to write copy not only taught me how to sell but also transformed my perspective on contributing to others’ success.
As Russell Brunson puts it:
"Contributing to other people’s success helped me grow more than focusing on my own success."
Looking Ahead
Inspired by Naval Ravikant’s insight about finding a position of leverage, my goal over the next three years is to:
Build a coaching company that helps entrepreneurs experience more freedom, happiness, and success.
P.S. What’s a book or skill that transformed your life? Let me know—I’d love to hear!
